304 / 304L

304/304L is the most versatile and widely used austenitic stainless steel grade, commonly used for general purpose applications that has excellent strength, toughness, formability, great weldability and can be severely deep drawn. 304 has excellent corrosion resistance in may environments and when in contact with different corrosive media. Pitting and crevice corrosion can occur in environments containing chlorides. Stress corrosion cracking can occur above 140°F [60°C} degrees.
